Monitoring & Evaluation Intern

Reporting to: Deputy Director
Location: New York City, New York
Time commit­ment: 8–10 hours/week

Join Encounter’s team as our new Monitoring & Evaluation Intern to support the crit­ical work we do on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This is a unique oppor­tu­nity to gain expe­ri­ence in the field of moni­toring and eval­u­a­tion and join a committed team working on the front lines to trans­form Jewish communal engage­ment with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. 

The ideal candi­date is highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work inde­pen­dently, and possesses a strong interest in conflict trans­for­ma­tion or expe­ri­en­tial educa­tion and a desire to acquire skills in moni­toring & eval­u­a­tion and data manage­ment. This is a unique oppor­tu­nity to gain hands-on expe­ri­ence supporting data manage­ment and analysis of eval­u­a­tion data. Graduate student strongly preferred but excep­tional under­grad­u­ates are encour­aged to apply. The Intern may work remotely, but will be expected to meet in person at least once every two weeks. 


  • Updating data­base (Salesforce) with eval­u­a­tion data
  • Compiling quan­ti­ta­tive and qual­i­ta­tive data based on collected program feed­back forms
  • Writing reports and supporting visual repre­sen­ta­tion of data
  • May be involved in some data analysis
  • Other, in conver­sa­tion with supervisor


  • Must commit to 8–10 hours/week
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Self-motivated with a posi­tive atti­tude; able to work independently 
  • Personable and profes­sional, comfort­able commu­ni­cating via a mix of email, phone and video confer­ence call. 


  • Knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and/or program eval­u­a­tion or moni­toring and evaluation
  • Experience data­bases, espe­cially Salesforce 
  • Basic graphic design experience
