Responding to the Aleph Bet

In Israel words have power. When I say “The Wall,” do I mean the kotel or a sepa­ra­tion barrier? When I say Israel, am I speaking of a geograph­ical loca­tion or a national people? Sometimes one needs to step back in order to move forward. Break down words to letters…can this disso­lu­tion create a stronger re-building? י-ש-ר-א-ל…disconnect, rearrange, construct…ש-א-ל… which means ask; ל-י  for me; א-ר, light. When it come to Israel, we must step back, ask for ourselves, and through this process, see things in a new light.
