In times of height­ened conflict it is ever more impor­tant, though
even more chal­lenging, to reach across bound­aries and culti­vate
genuine curiosity– espe­cially if we seek to trans­form this conflict.
These past few weeks have high­lighted both the fragility and yet
vital need for extending ourselves beyond our comfort zones to learn
more and reen­gage, despite the temp­ta­tion to do the oppo­site.
Encounter is that space and we seek to culti­vate our capacity as a
commu­nity to live out these ideals.

With that in mind, we are pleased to invite you to join us and the
wider Encounter commu­nity for ReDedicate, a Chanukah-inspired alumni
event. We will share an evening of collec­tive reflec­tion and communal
celebration.

Join us on December 19th, from 7–9:30pm to:

— Reconnect with other alumni

— Reflect on your Encounter expe­ri­ences– the memo­ries, the
ques­tions
that stayed with you, and your commit­ments for continued engagement

— Reengage with the conver­sa­tion and inspire next steps through
creative brain­storming and Open Space Technology

This is the first in a year-long series of events offered to
Israel-based Encounter alumni. Future alumni events will include
one-day advanced trips to different cities in the West Bank, topical
lectures from Palestinian speakers, and work­shops on speaking and
writing about our expe­ri­ences with the conflict.
