In times of heightened conflict it is ever more important, though
even more challenging, to reach across boundaries and cultivate
genuine curiosity– especially if we seek to transform this conflict.
These past few weeks have highlighted both the fragility and yet
vital need for extending ourselves beyond our comfort zones to learn
more and reengage, despite the temptation to do the opposite.
Encounter is that space and we seek to cultivate our capacity as a
community to live out these ideals.
With that in mind, we are pleased to invite you to join us and the
wider Encounter community for ReDedicate, a Chanukah-inspired alumni
event. We will share an evening of collective reflection and communal
celebration.
Join us on December 19th, from 7–9:30pm to:
— Reconnect with other alumni
— Reflect on your Encounter experiences– the memories, the
questions
that stayed with you, and your commitments for continued engagement
— Reengage with the conversation and inspire next steps through
creative brainstorming and Open Space Technology
Questions, or to RSVP, please email Jenn at jenn@encounterprograms.org. A RSVP is requested by December 9th, and
additional event details will be provided.
This is the first in a year-long series of events offered to
Israel-based Encounter alumni. Future alumni events will include
one-day advanced trips to different cities in the West Bank, topical
lectures from Palestinian speakers, and workshops on speaking and
writing about our experiences with the conflict.
We look forward to seeing you December 19th!
